Why Project TransAction?
Project TransAction is a small business (actually a one person company), that makes socially conscious choices (soy based cleaners, anti sweatshop suppliers, 100% cotton shirts.) Supporting small and/or local businesses is the best way to combat big business and corporations, which makes the economy better for the Average Joe. Many new printshops use heat transfer or machine printing to make "printing" more cost effective. Transferred images tend to crack, peel, and fade over time (like a sticker.) We do it old school, pushing ink through a screen with a squeegee and our hands. This takes more skill and attention.
Are all of those American Apparel Shirts?
No. We recently switched to AA, but still have some printed Gildan and Hanes shirts in stock (just a few.) We are currently printing exclusively on American Apparel shirts.
What is included in the price per shirt?
For custom printing, there is a pricing chart here. The listed price includes the actual physical shirt, the print, and 30 minutes of design (if your image needs to be altered for printing.) Printing on black or darker colored shirts is a little bit more expensive because cost to us is a little bit more. Printing an additional side or placement (sleeve print, back tag print) requires removing the shirt, curing the ink, and printing the shirt a second time.
Why is there a screen setup charge?
When you order prints from a custom design we create a unique screen just for you. Preparing the screen itself and getting it ready to print onto your shirts takes time and uses a few different supplies.
How do I send artwork?
All of the information that you need on sending art can be found here. If this is too much to try to understand, just shoot me an email and I'll work with you.
How do I know what size cuff to order?
For the best fitting cuff, measure your wrist in one of two ways. 1. Using a cloth tape measure, loosely measure your wrist about an inch down from where your arm meets your hand. 2. Using a strip of paper, a shoelace, floss, etc, wrap around wrist and cut so that the two ends meet with little slack. Compare to a ruler. Small - child or very slim adult. (approx. 5.5-6") Medium - average or athletic wrists (approx. 6.5-7") Large - moderately muscular or chubby wrists (approx. 7.5-8") X-Large - (approx. 8.5-9")
Do you make custom cuffs? What words can I choose?
Yes- most cuff styles are available as shown, or with just about any variation that you'd like. Since I make them all by hand, I am open to any suggestions or requests. Larger cuffs are available, as well as dog collars and belts.
You can choose any word that you'd like, within reason. Different words are offensive to different people, so if you're not sure, just give it a whirl. I'm pretty open. Small cuffs fit 4 letters, Medium 5 letters, etc. Pennant style cuffs generally fit one extra letter per size.

Can I get a larger size shirt?
Yes. We are limited to the sizes of the manufacturer for American Apparel shirts, but we are HUGE fans of size diversity. Please email with requests for larger sizes, and we will find you the right shirt at the right price.
Your ethics seem right, so why are you selling leather goods?
Some people just have an affinity for leather. All of the leather that we use is from scrap. This means that if we don't use it, that part of the animal will just be wasted. Perpetuating the animal killing industry is not on our "to do" list, but we also don't believe in wasting perfectly good materials.
